The APOLLO 2 – STS Personnel Transfer Basket, approved by the Brazilian Directorate of Ports and Coasts (DPC) and in compliance with Normam-321, Annex 4-B, was developed for ship-to-ship transfer operations, ensuring maximum safety and comfort for passengers during transfers between vessels. Designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the maritime environment, it offers safety, robustness and reliability in transfers between vessels.

With the capacity to transport up to two passengers with an average weight of 90 kg and hand luggage of up to 10 kg, the APOLLO 2 – STS is built with a reinforced structure that protects against vertical and horizontal impacts up to 3.25 m/s, with a safety factor greater than 10.

The basket is equipped with two hoisting cables: a primary 3.0-meter cable and an emergency 3.1-meter cable, ensuring continuous safety in case of failure. Additionally, the APOLLO 2 – STS is designed to float stably in the event of a fall into the sea, keeping passengers in a vertical position. Even in a capsizing situation, the basket provides a safe escape route above sea level, in any sea condition.

The basket’s access are wide and easy to use, allowing passengers to board and disembark safely. During transportation, passengers remain standing, with their hand luggage stored securely at their side.

Servicing and repair

The annual inspection of transfer baskets is mandatory to ensure operational safety and comply with legal requirements. The inspection must be carried out by a specialized technical team authorized by the manufacturer, in compliance with Normam-321 of the DPC.

During maintenance, the equipment is fully disassembled, and each fixed or removable component is thoroughly inspected. Damaged or worn parts are repaired or replaced, ensuring full compliance with safety requirements.

Upon completion of the inspection, the basket is issued an Inspection Certificate, ensuring traceability, reliability, and compliance with maritime authority regulations.
